Amazon is Bringing CDC PSAs to Amazon Devices

Yesterday, Amazon announced that it would be bringing COVID-19 updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and national news providers to Amazon customers. Amazon will be bringing official public service announcements to Fire TV and Echo Show devices in the US.

Amazon says that users can now find PSA videos on the Fire TV home screen in a dedicated row titled Centers for Disease Control Public Service Announcements.” The row will be updated as new CDC PSAs are created.

You can also find one featured PSA video on your Echo Show per day. Just say “Alexa, play the PSA video” or select the Alexa hint on the home screen.

In addition to the official CDC updates, Amazon is making sure to bring reliable news sources to viewers, available without a subscription. You can access curated live and on-demand news by clicking on the “Free apps and trials” Hero banner on Fire TV and selecting the news tile. You will have access to coverage from CBS News, Fox News, NBC News, the News app, and more.

These are just a couple of the changes Amazon is making in response to COVID-19. The company also made a collection of kids’ content available for free to all Amazon customers, made many children’s books available for free on Audible, and began offering a $0.99 deal on Amazon Fire TV FreeTime.

The CDC’s PSA videos and more helpful information can be found on the CDC website.
