Amazon Prime Video is Beta Testing a Watch Party Feature

Amazon Prime Video is beginning to roll out a watch party feature for those who want to watch content with friends and family. The feature will be available for Prime members viewing on desktop, in the US only.

Prime members will be able to choose from thousands of titles available in Prime Video’s SVOD catalog (titles available at no additional cost to Prime members) including Amazon Originals such as Emmy Award winners Fleabag and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, HANNA, Mindy Kaling’s Late Night, Donald Glover’s Guava IslandTroop Zero, Academy Award-nominated The Big Sick, The Boys, Homecoming, and My Spy among many others.

Like other services, including Hulu and Plex, Amazon’s Watch Party will offer synchronized playback with one host who controls the content. The feature will include a chat for participants to talk and share stickers. Watch Party will accommodate up to 100 participants per session (each participant must have a Prime membership or Prime Video subscription and must be based in the US).
