Amazon Freevee Adds Demand Africa Now

Demand Africa, known as the leading streaming destination for both original and acquired content from Africa and the global Black Diaspora, has announced they will be expanding the distribution of their FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channel. This will be available on Amazon Freevee in the U.S.

Chris Eckman, SVP Operations & OTT Services, stated: “DA’s new agreement with Freevee and overall expansion efforts reflects the increased demand for diverse stories from Black voices worldwide. With this increased distribution, Demand Africa stands ready to meet that rising demand and reinforce its commitment to supporting and celebrating partners in the Black content creation community by sharing their stories worldwide.”

Demand Africa is a global OTT (Over-the-Top Media Service) and streaming video service that connects audiences to the best lifestyle, movies, and television from Africa and more. Their mission is to celebrate and bring attention to modern Africa’s influence on the world by connecting global communities to entertainment as diverse as the continent of Africa itself.

Over the last year, Demand Africa has expanded its reach to meet the growing interests and needs of its consumers, who are seeking primarily lifestyle content, TV series, and movies from Africa. This expansion includes the recent launch of the service’s SVOD (subscription video-on-demand) version. This is an add-on available via Amazon Prime Video Channels.

Good news for African and Black content creators: this recent development for Demand Arica provides an even wider opportunity for them to reach larger audiences. Amazon Freevee will be able to allow them to reach international viewers and even increase the amount of revenue their content makes.

This revolutionary streaming service is available on their website, www.demandafrica.com, and also as an add-on subscription service on Amazon’s Prime Video Channels. Additionally, it is available on The Roku Channel as an SVOD app for mobile, available on iOS and Android. Demand Africa can also be accessed through a TV connected to your subscription services (Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku) and is also available as a FAST channel distributed via several third-party platforms around the world.

In addition to the expansion to Freevee, Demand Africa’s FAST channel is also available in other locations around the world, including Canada (The Roku Channel), Brazil (Samsung TV Plus) and Europe (LG Channels, Net Gem)
