Amazon Is Adding New Features to the Fire TV

It seems Amazon has been busy not only working on a smart TV with built-in Fire TV but also on improving its current Fire TV.

For some time now there have been hints that Amazon was working on a Fire TV browser. There was even code found in the Fire Tablet Silk browser for control by a Fire TV remote. Now AFTVnews has confirmed that the browser is coming to the Fire TV.

Yesterday, for a short amount of time, if you performed a voice search on your Fire TV you received a prompt to also do a search on the Silk browser.

Sadly if you selected the Silk browser as how you wanted to do the search nothing happened. This once again seems to be Amazon leaking something before it meant for it to go live; however, it does seem that the service is getting close to launching soon—maybe as soon as when the new Amazon smart TVs with built-in Fire TV launch at the end of June.
