Almost 60% of Americans Reportedly Subscribe to Netflix but Hulu & Amazon Are Catching Up

Today Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP and Vorhaus Advisors released their annual Digital Strategy Study looking at a wide range of digital products including TV streaming services.

According to the Digital Strategy Study, 60% of Americans subscribe to Netflix followed by Amazon Prime Video at 41% and Hulu at 32%. From there you see a big drop with HBO coming in at 15%, YouTube Red at 10%, and CBS All Access at 8%.

There are a few interesting things about this study. First, it still lists YouTube Red, but YouTube Premium replaced Red in June 2018. Also, it lists PlayStation Vue and fuboTV as being larger than Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW, and YouTube TV.

This report lines up well with other reports suggesting that over half of Americans subscribe to Netflix and that Amazon Prime Video is the second-largest subscription streaming service.

What do you think of this breakdown? Do you agree with their report that lists Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu as the three largest US streaming services? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
