AirTV Appears to Be Down for Sling TV users

AirTV, an over-the-air digital video recorder that grabs local channels, is down for Sling TV users, according to several comments on Reddit.

The device was built by DISH and optimized for Sling TV users. The AirTV’s ability to grab local channels fills a gap in the streaming service, which doesn’t offer locals in most markets because of the cost to carry them.

While anyone can use the device, AirTV has primarily been designed for Sling TV customers.

The Reddit thread shows a few customers unable to access their local channels despite rebooting or factory resetting the device.

“This morning noticed airtv channels were gone. I’ve had no issues so I’ve re scanned and restored to account several times with success but yet continues to not show afterwards?” said the original poster.

Update: Some users on Reddit are reporting that their Air TV is working again, but that they can’t record or delete anything.

A spokesperson for DISH said they were looking into the problem. AirTV’s X (formerly Twitter) account didn’t respond to a ping for comment.
