After The Disney Sale Fox Sports App Splits Into Two Different Apps

Fans of soccer watching matchIn the past, Fox Sports and the Fox Sports Go apps would give you the same content from both FS1 and Fox Regional Sports Networks. Now that Disney and soon Sinclair owns the Fox Regional Sports Networks has resulted in two Fox Sports apps.

The Fox Sports app now includes content from places like FS1 and BTN. The Fox Sports Go app now includes content from Fox Regional Sports Network. (Though the description still lists the Fox Sports Go app as including FS1 and BTN.)

This likely means soon if not already on your favorite devices you will no longer be able to access FS1 content next to your Fox Regional Sports Network. Now the Fox Sports Go app has local RSN content and the Fox Sports app has FS1 etc content according to some of our readers. As best we can tell Fox is slowly rolling out this new app on devices like the Apple TV.

Sinclair has not stated what they will do with the Fox RSN names once they close on them. Though it is very likely they will be changing names very soon. This split of the two apps into Fox Sports Go and Fox Sports is likely only temporary until the full rebranding happens. First, though Sinclair needs to close on their $10+ billion deal to buy the Fox RSN networks.
