Acorn TV is Bringing ‘Mount Pleasant’ and More to The US in Its November Lineup

The British streaming service Acorn TV is starting to announce their shows for the upcoming months, including a new Irish comedy-drama and the season premieres of some fan favorites.

OCTOBER 28

Our favorite ultra-chic amateur sleuth, Agatha Raisin, is back with a contagious vengeance in a fright-and-humor packed installment of Acorn TV’s acclaimed comedic mystery series, Agatha Raisin & the Haunted House. In this hilarious feature-length Halloween special, Ashley Jensen (Extras, Catastrophe, Ugly Betty) returns to her beloved titular character as she opens her own detective agency and investigates a legendary haunted house as the perfect opportunity to drum up business, until things get quite unexpectedly frightening. This 90-minute movie is the latest installment of the humorous acclaimed mystery series AGATHA RAISIN, based on M.C. Beaton’s bestselling novels. Keep your eyes glued for new Agatha Raisin Series 3 mysteries in early 2020.

NOVEMBER 4

The first-ever U.S. streaming of the early 2010s UK dramedy Mount Pleasant, starring Coronation Street’s Sally Lindsay and Black Sea’s Daniel Ryan (3 seasons to binge: Seasons 1 and 2 on Nov. 4, Season 3 on Nov. 18)

The universally adored, cult fav Canadian series about a troubled, yet very talented Shakespeare theater workshop, starring Paul Gross, Rachel McAdams and Mark McKinney (Superstore), who is also the co-creator/co-writer (2 seasons to binge: Season 1 on Nov. 4, Season 2 on Nov. 25)

NOVEMBER 11

The story of Ruby Walker, a junior doctor who is looking to begin a new chapter of her life following a heartbreaking end to her relationship back in the United Kingdom. Walker joins the hard-working team of medics at the town’s local hospital.

In addition to these premieres, Acorn TV has announced it will be co-commissioning two new original series – An Irish comedy-drama, The South Westerlies, and a New Zealand Thriller The Sounds with Sky NZ. Both will premiere exclusively on Acorn TV in 2020.
