Do you take heavy advantage of YouTube TV’s unlimited DVR that lets you keep programs for 9 months? If you are, you may have run into a glitch with YouTube TV that locks you out of your recordings.

For months now, we have heard reports of some YouTube TV subscribers getting locked out of their DVR recordings. They are able to watch live TV from the home page or guide but are unable to access their library to view recordings. Now, multiple YouTube TV subscribers have taken to Reddit to complain about the issue.

At issue here seems to be when power users who record a lot of content in the range of over 8,000 programs recorded; it seems to break something in YouTube TV. Multiple reports have now come in that, at that point, YouTube TV locks customers out of the library.

Some customers have said contacting YouTube TV support fixed the issue for a bit, but it has come back. An official YouTube TV account on Reddit did say they are looking into it, and users affected by the issue have commented that they were contacted by YouTube.

Sadly, if you are impacted by this issue, there is nothing you can do but wait for YouTube TV to fix the glitch.

It seems YouTube TV did not predict such power users would record so many programs before they are automatically deleted after 9 months. Now they need to figure out how to address that issue.
