Disney+ is getting a new spinoff of its popular Marvel Studios series WandaVision. The series is already in development with Kathryn Hahn set to star, reprising her role as Agatha Harkness. Variety first reported the news, with no word on the release date or storyline, other than it’s set to be a dark comedy.
This is big news for Disney+ and MCU fans who seem to be insatiable for Marvel content. WandaVision was the streamer’s first Marvel Studios scripted TV series and debuted January 15. It was viewed by 1.6 million households that first weekend.
Since then, Disney+ has released more successful series from the MCU including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and its animated alternate reality series What If…? with plenty more in the pipeline including Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, and Moonknight, just to name a few.
The newly announced spinoff series will be lead by WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer serving as the writer and executive producer.
