A New Startup Wants to Live Stream Local Broadcast TV For Free

Ever wish you could stream local channels for free? Now with a new startup app called PhoenixBTV you can do just that in the Phoenix area.

PhoenixBTV currently offers a mix of local stations and broadcast channels such as AZTV, MeTV, TuffTV, This TV, Retro TV, Rev’n, Azteca, and Estrella, among others; however, it does not yet offer access to local feeds of majors such as ABC, NBC, CBS, or Fox.

PhoenixBTV is also working on a cloud DVR option and has plans for a paid premium version that will deliver more than 50 channels of local TV.

The service is in beta and is limited to the Phoenix metro area now. But as with all services like this it starts out small and grows. Hopefully the Phoenix launch is a huge success and will roll out across the United States soon.

PhoenixBTC plans to roll out an official service sometime in 2017 and has no comment about plans beyond Phoenix at this time; however, even if PhoenixBTV does not roll out beyond the Phoenix area if it is successful others will jump on the idea and copy it.

As always competition and options are a good thing for cord cutters.
