Android TV Rumors first broke the news after spotting of a device in the Google Play Console with the codename “mdarcy.”
From what we know very little is changing with this Nvidia Shield. All the specs found online are the same as the current Nvidia Shield except for an upgraded Tegra X1 processor that is listed as a Tegra X1 “T210 B01″ instead of the Tegra X1 “A2″ that is currently used.
From the documents we have, it looks like this is a minor update of the Nvidia Shield. With that said this could all be place holder data that will be updated at a later date. Nvidia and other companies have a history of listing incorrect information about a new device until they are ready to release it.
It is also not unusual for a company with a long-running device like the Nvidia Shield to upgrade a processor without making a big announcement about the change.
