A New Hawkeye Series is Being Developed for Disney+

Last week, Disney hosted an event where we learned more about their new streaming service, Disney+.

Along with all the details about pricing, device support, and app design that we got during the announcement, we also learned about some of the original content that Disney+ is working on. One series we’re hearing a lot about is Hawkeye.

We first met Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner, in movies with 2011’s Thor. We got to know the character more throughout the Avengers movies, and he’ll make another appearance in Avenger’s Endgame which hits theaters on April 26.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is reporedtly using the new streaming service as a platform for shining a spotlight on some favorite Marvel characters who haven’t gotten their own movie franchises. These limited run series will likely be 6-8 episodes focusing on one major story arc that will intertwine with the Marvel movies.

Jeremy Renner will be back in the role of Clint Barton/Hawkeye for the series. The story is rumored to be based on Clint Barton passing the torch to Kate Bishop, according to a report from Variety. This comes along with speculations from fan’s that the Kate Bishop character will be showing up in Avengers Endgame.
