79.4% of Cable TV Subscribers Also Subscribe to Netflix

Today we got a new look at a report that should put an end to any argument that cable TV is cheaper than cord cutting. Why should this put an end to that argument? As we long suspected most subscribers to a cable TV network also subscribe to a streaming service such as Netflix.

Today Tivo’s research group released their fourth quarter 2017 findings and maybe to the surprise of no one most pay-TV subscribers also subscribe to Netflix. What may surprise you is to learn that 79.4% of pay-TV subscribers subscribe to Netflix.

Yet it does not stop there: 38.1% of pay-TV subscribers also subscribe to Amazon and 28.8% subscribe to Hulu.

Clearly cable TV subscribers are finding themselves unable to get all the content they want without also subscribing to a streaming service such as Netflix.

So all of these arguments that try to convince you that cable TV is cheaper ignores one key factor. Cable TV fails to offer the content Americans want, forcing them to subscribe to a streaming service such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.

So when they try to convince you if that promotional offer for cable TV is the cheapest option ask yourself if you really would give up all subscription services.
