2023 is shaping up to be a great year for cord cutters as a new report says 77% of Spectrum’s cable TV customers plan to cancel or change their subscriptions within the next two years. This comes from a report out of Worcester, Massachusetts, which conducted the study as part of their city’s contract with Spectrum, which is expiring on October 29th, according to a report from Masslive.com.

The report comes from the Kansas-based market research company that conducted a survey last fall to “gauge public sentiment about Charter-Spectrum Cable Television services and to help guide the City’s priorities when re-negotiating the contract with Charter-Spectrum Cable Television,” according to a summary of the survey.

From the report, 77% of subscribers said they would cancel or change their subscription, 18% said they were canceling the subscription so they could use an online streaming service, 27% said they were canceling because of the high cost, 28% said they were going to change the subscription hoping to get a cheaper package and just 1% said they were canceling because they were moving.

According to the report, the average monthly cost of their cable TV service was $151 or more. Over one-third paid more than $201 a month for their cable service.

Clearly, the few remaining cable TV subscribers are very unhappy with their service and are looking at all options. With customers paying over $200 a month and still not getting access to content that can now only be found online at places like Disney+ or Paramount+, you can understand why.
