AT&T Wants to Shutdown Its DSL Internet Service & Finally Has a Plan to Do That
Since 2020 AT&T has stopped selling DSL internet to new customers. Now AT&T is making a new push to get DSL customers off its old network and onto a new series called AT&T Internet Air.
AT&T reportedly has plans to reduce its copper footprint by 50% over the next few years. At the time, AT&T faced criticism for not having new options for some markets to replace DSL internet. Now it seems AT&T has an answer for areas that still don’t have Fiber with AT&T Internet Air.

Netflix Adds New Features to Its Ad-Supported Plan Without Changing The Price
Starting this month, Netflix is rolling out changes to its basic ad-supported plan. The popular streaming platform announced video quality will improve from 720p to 1080p while also expanding to let subscribers stream on two supported devices at once.
“Given current healthy performance and trajectory of our per-member advertising economics, particularly in the US, we’re upgrading our ads experience with more streams and improved video quality to attract a broader range of consumers.”

AT&T Dodges Questions On If DIRECTV & DISH Will Merge
For years now, there has been talk of DIRECTV and DISH merging. Much like how Sirus Radio and XM Radio merged to keep satellite radio alive, there is pressure for DISH and DIRECTV to merge.
DISH has even in the past talked about the possibility of a merger between DIRECTV and DISH. During the 3rd quarter of 2022 earnings, DISH’s Chairman Charlie Ergen, when asked about the possible merger, said now, “that election cycle is over next week. And then you have a window, where I think all companies are looking at M&A.” Ergen went on to say “If the timing was right, it would be in the near term, not the longer term.”
