Live TV has long been the main way people watched programs but that is quickly changing in 2023. Now in the first half 3.9 million Americans have canceled their live TV services, including cable TV and streaming services like Hulu, Fubo, and Sling TV.

The only live TV service to add customers os far in 2023 was YouTube TV. YouTube TV reportedly added over 300,000 new subscribers in the first half of 2023. This comes as all live TV services, including streaming, cable TV, and satellite, lost over 3.9 million customers in the first half of 2023 according to the Leichtman Research Group.

Increasingly cord cutters are going for cheaper on-demand services like Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, Max, and more. For anyone who is not a fan of sports, increasingly on-demand is all you need and can save you a lot of money.

According to our readers most cord cutters pay for 3 to 4 streaming services. You can subscribe to a lot of content with four on-demand services a lot cheaper than live TV.

So what would 4 streaming services cost you every month? (Why with ads? Because cable TV has ads also.)

Total Cost: $30.96 a month.

According to a report from the Leichtman Research Group the average American pays $112.70 for live TV services from cable TV or streaming. Paying just $30.96 a month for four of the most popular can give you a ton of content for a fraction of the price of cable TV and live TV streaming.

Until recently many TV executives had hoped that streaming services like Hulu or Fubo would help offset the decline in cable TV now it seems that just won’t happen as Americans have had enough of live TV on cable or streaming online.
