Many Netflix subscribers just saw their prices raised as grandfathered deals ended. Would you pay more for Netflix?
Recently Digitalsmiths, a Tivo-owned research company, asked 3,114 adults and found out that most Netflix customers loved the service so much they would be willing to pay more for it: 39.1% said they would pay $12–15 a month, and 21% said they would pay $16 or more per month.
Just 29.3% said they would not pay more than the current $10 a month base package for Netflix.
There also has been a lot of talk about the Netflix catalog and whether subscribers are getting their money’s worth now that Netflix has fewer movies and TV shows than it did just a few years ago. The response to that is “yes,” people are happy with the new Netflix original shows and are willing to pay for them.
According to the same study on average pay-TV customers pay $100 a month for their service. With that average monthly bill being so high, Netflix looks like a fantastic deal even at $10 or more per month.
The real question may be how much will cord cutters be willing to pay in total as so many different services fight for their cord cutting dollar?
