The deal is the latest in a long line of deals from Sling TV. They already offer a free Roku 2, or half off other players such as the Roku 3, and even deals on the new Apple TV if you subscribe for 3 months.

This is also not the first time Walmart has promoted cord cutting. And they recently ran a full-page in their weekly Walmart Ad that has a cord cutting website that does nothing but promote cord cutting and the devices cord cutters use.
This is just one more in the ever-growing list of companies that are jumping on the cord cutting bandwagon. With Hulu, DirecTV, YouTube, and Vidgo all planning a new streaming service for cord cutters and stores such as Walmart all jumping on the cord cutting bandwagon.
Hopefully deals like this will result in many people giving services such as Sling TV a try resulting in people finding out how great and inexpensive cord cutting can be.
