Twitter is continuing its slow roll of new content deals for its live streaming service. First Twitter teamed up with the NFL followed by deals with the Pac-12, NBA, and even PBS.
Now Twitter and Dick Clark Productions have teamed up. Dick Clark Productions is probably best-known for its New Year’s Eve shows, but this deal focuses on streaming red carpet pre-shows of many popular awards shows.
Now you will be able to watch the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards, 2017 American Music Awards, and the Billboard Music Awards pre-shows on Twitter for free.
“We are thrilled with the success of the Golden Globes red carpet pre-show and look forward to working with Twitter on additional shows,” said Mike Mahan, president, Dick Clark Productions, in a statement about the new deal. “By offering a unique online viewing opportunity, we are able to expand the audience experience and generate deeper, more compelling conversation.”
This is great news for cord cutters even if you are not a fan of red carpet shows. As more events move online showing how successful they can be more services and events are encouraged to offer content online to cord cutters.
