If you had hopes for a cheaper Roku 3, Roku 2, or Roku 1 after the Roku 4 came out we have bad news for you. All signs are pointing to the Roku 3 and all past models staying at their current prices.

This seems like a strange move on Roku’s part now that the new Fire TV offers 4K support, is faster, and has more memory for only $99. The 1080p slower Roku 3 is still selling at $99.

Roku 3 PriceRoku could drop the prices later but their site has added the new Roku 4 alongside the older boxes with their prices unchanged. Amazon.com and Best Buy all still list the Roku 3 at the same price they were before the Roku 4 announcement.

Roku could be waiting until after the Roku 4 release to drop the Roku 3 price. Though most drop the price when the new model is announced or take it out of stock—Roku has done neither. We had been expecting to see at least a $10 drop in the Roku 3 but had wondered if it would be the new Roku 2 price point and move the Roku 2 into the Roku 1 price range.

Only time will tell, but if you had hoped for a good deal on the Roku 3 after the Roku 4 came out you may want to look at the refurbished Roku 3s.
