Sony Tries to Address The Confusion Over The PlayStation Vue Name

One of the most common questions we get about PlayStation Vue is asking if you need a PlayStation gaming system to use it. Now it seems that Sony has heard your complaints and is working on addressing that issue.

It probably didn’t help that Sony use to advertise PlayStation Vue as “Game The System” and they only ever showed it working on a PlayStation 4.

In April Sony started testing out ads that focus on the fact that PlayStation Vue works on a wide range of devices. Sony has for some time now been dropping in that they support other devices at the end of ads but now the ads are all about device support.

Now Sony has started to aggressively roll out a new set of ads that promote the fact that PlayStation Vue works on a ton of devices. Devices like the Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Laptops, phones & tablets, and more.

Sadly I was unable to embed the new Facebook ads Sony is using that show the full lineup of supported devices but here is a example of a TV version.

Many including Cord Cutters News have called on Sony to change the name of the service to anything without the PlayStation in the name. I personally recommend Vue TV or Sony Vue TV. Both have a great name to it and keep the Vue name.

Hopefully Sony keeps pushing the idea that you do not need a PlayStation to use PlayStation Vue.
