Watching TV, Watching, Living Room, Domestic Life, SmilingA few weeks ago DIRECTV NOW made several announcements including plans to release a new app along with 4K support; however, the biggest news was the plans to add a DVR to DIRECTV NOW.

AT&T said it would start the DVR beta this summer with a handful of testers and it would go public in the fall. Now it looks like the DIRECTV NOW DVR beta has started according to several reports.

Cord Cutters News has received word that emails went out to select DIRECTV NOW subscribers last week as part of a first wave of DVR testing. We have not seen the DVR test personally but have heard from readers that an email went out about the testing.

No additional details have been offered, so we don’t know what limitations or rules the DVR will have on DIRECTV NOW. It is just good news that the DVR beta invites have started to go out.

Make sure to check your email if you are a DIRECTV NOW subscriber. If you missed out on this round, keep checking your email because it is likely more invites will go out.

If you miss out on the beta, don’t worry. It will go public to all DIRECTV NOW subscribers this fall.
