Netflix recently announced it wanted to put a new focus on family-friendly content. Now it seems to slowly be moving in that direction.

It has rebooted Bill Nye and The Magic School Bus, and now it’s going to remake the 1990s classic childhood show Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?

We have confirmation that Gina Rodriguez will voice the title character.

It seems the show is very early in production, and Netflix has ordered 20 episodes for a 2018 or even a 2019 release. (The dates are not confirmed.)

Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? first launched as a computer game in the 1980s to teach geography. After its success it was made into both a PBS kids game show and a Saturday morning cartoon show on FOX. It expanded into box and video games and now is getting a reboot.

Details are still thin, but hopefully this is the start of Netflix continuing to release more family-friendly shows.
