With Untagle.TV you can analyzes your viewing behaviors to recommend a custom mix of over-the-air (OTA) and over-the-top (OTT) devices and services needed to watch the TV they prefer at a cost they control.

“Cord cutting should be easy, and our mission has always focused on giving consumers choice, simplicity and the best entertainment experience possible,” said Mark Buff, founder and CEO of Mohu. “However, in the current cord cutting landscape, we know consumers have dozens of products and services to choose from, which can be overwhelming to evaluate all options available. To alleviate the burden of choice and simplify the cord cutting selection process, we created Untangle.TV to be the ultimate cord cutting shopping wizard. The tool objectively guides and supports consumers throughout their cord cutting journey.”

From Mohu:

For Untangle.TV, helping consumers find the right products and services is very personal. Untangle.TV accesses a robust selection of OTA and OTT services, and creates personalized package recommendations by understanding a handful of questions that are specific to users and their behaviors, including:

  • How tech savvy are you? By identifying a user’s technology comfort level, the application understands the user’s need to simplify the installation and day-to-day operational use of the devices and services it suggests.
  • What do you watch? This allows Untangle.TV to understand the specific viewing preferences of each user. For example, if a user selects a channel like ESPN or a show like Game of Thrones, Untangle.TV could recommend various services, like Sling TV Orange or HBO NOW.
  • How much do you currently spend on pay-TV? Are you budget-conscious? Cost is a big draw for consumers looking to cut the cord, and Untangle.TV helps budget-conscious consumers determine the most cost-effective combination of services and devices to best suit their needs. Not only does Untangle.TV calculate a user’s estimated monthly savings relative to their current pay-TV bill, it also provides a cost analysis of the products and services it suggests in order to inform the user of how they can further control their viewing budget. For example, upon reviewing the final Untangle.TV cost analysis, a user can decide if they want to remove a particular show or channel to lower the price of their suggested package.

Once the user sets their budget and viewing preferences, Untangle.TV provides a list of products that a user should purchase by analyzing performance capabilities and costs of Mohu OTA antennas and major OTT devices, services and applications.

“Untangle.TV is the most complete application available to help consumers navigate their cord cutting journey, and we hope this tool takes the complexity out of making informed television decisions,” said Buff. “We want to continue supporting the cord cutting movement and believe Untangle.TV will help alleviate many consumers’ questions about choosing the right products to help them cut the cord on cable and satellite TV.”
