Hulu Adds Support For More TV Everywhere Apps

Male hand holding TV remote control. When Hulu first launched their live TV streaming beta they had access to just 10 TV Everywhere apps. Hulu app support mostly included Disney owned apps along with Fox Sports Go and BTN. Now Hulu has slowly been rolling out support to more apps. Today Hulu offers support for over 30 apps giving Hulu’s Live TV subscribers access to more content on the go than ever before.

Here are all the apps the Hulu current supports:

  • A&E
  • ABC*
  • BTN TV
  • Bravo
  • CBS*
  • CBS Sports
  • CNBC
  • Cooking Channel
  • Disney
  • Disney XD
  • Disney Junior
  • DIY Channel
  • E!
  • ESPN*
  • Freeform (formerly ABC Family)
  • Food Network
  • FOX
  • Fox News
  • Fox Sports*
  • FX*
  • FYI
  • HBO NOW**
  • HGTV
  • History
  • Lifetime
  • Nat Geo*
  • NBC Sports*
  • Sprout
  • Syfy
  • Telemundo
  • Travel Channel

*Subject to regional availability and programming blackouts determined by location.
**Before logging in to HBO NOW, you must first use your Hulu credentials to register for an account with HBO.

This seems to be one more way Hulu is slowly trying to improve their live TV streaming service. Not only has Hulu been adding more TV Everywhere app support but they have also been busy upgrading their app and adding more locals. Recently Hulu announced that they have almost hit 200+ locals streaming online.

Hulu seems to be locked in a race with Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, and DIRECTV NOW in an effort to offer the most content and options.

Good to see this but they need SSO Support. Same for DIRECTV NOW. Except for a few like HBO I will not deal with it until SSO support is available.

If I had to guess since AT&T supports SSO with DirecTV it will probably come when they move to the mew platform in a few months since they are converging all of their accounts under an AT&T login. I assume we won’t see any new features that require a DirecTV Now login just bug fixes. But yeah, the frequency that these apps require you to sign in again its a total pain.
