Last week social media erupted in outrage when it was discovered that DirecTV NOW had blacked out NFL games on local FOX channels it carries; however, Sling TV and PlayStation Vue aired the NFL games on local channels they carry.
The DirecTV NOW then came out to say it had fixed an “issue” causing the blackout of local NFL games; however, once again NFL games were blacked out on Sunday, leading to many unhappy DirecTV NOW subscribers.

At one point a few hours after the game started the blackout was lifted only to start a again for some latter in the game.
DirecTV NOW has not released an official statement on what is causing these blackouts. Its Twitter account asks anyone effected if it can help, but no real answers are being given.
With NFL games once again blacked out on DirecTV NOW it is starting to raise honest questions about whether the games will ever be on the streaming service. It is possible that DirecTV really does not own the rights to NFL games. Or there is just some unknown issue happening over at DirecTV NOW. Without an official statement from its parent company, AT&T, it is hard to know what is really happening.
Cord Cutters News has reached out to DirecTV NOW several times about this issue and has never received a reply.
