Cutting the cable connection to coax connector illustrating retired people cancelling cable TV serviceCord Cutters News is working hard to give you the best possible coverage of all things cord cutting. This has been my driving goal for the last 3 years.

Now I am working harder than ever to do an even better job at covering cord cutting. So I wanted to give you, the readers who make this all possible, a look behind the curtain of everything we are doing to give you the best possible coverage.

#1 SXSW & NAB

For the last few years I have attended CES to give you the latest coverage of all things cord cutting; however, that was the only trade show I went to. Now I am expanding to give you even better coverage.

In March I am heading to SXSW in Austin, Texas. Although this is more a movie and music show, there are also a ton of entertainment and streaming panels. This year staff from some big cord cutting companies, such as Sling TV and Roku, will be there. We will be too.

In April we are heading to the National Association of Broadcasters show in Las Vegas. This is a huge show, and it is the place that some of the biggest names in TV come out. This year it even has a special OTT (what they call cord cutting) lineup of speakers. We will be there to cover all the cord cutting-related news from the talks and the show floor.

#2 More Guides

About 60% of the emails I get from readers ask for help finding content or the right player. To answer as many of these emails as possible I will be posting more how-to guides on how to find shows, pick streaming players, and other cord cutting-related content.

This will allow me to quickly reply back to readers with a link to a story because many of the emails ask the same questions. So don’t be surprised if you see a flood of guides covering a lot of different topics. When they are done I am hoping they will help answer more reader emails without taking up too much time.

#3 AntennaRecommendation.com

I launched AntennaRecommendations.com as a way to give super simple and easy to understand information on antennas. (Something I saw as a need in the cord cutting community.) The site has been a success, but sadly I have never been able to give it the time it deserves to finish the design and help grow it. The site also is not inexpensive. It costs $15,000 every year to keep the data current.

So in an effort to put more time into CordCuttersNews.com, I decided to drop the AntennaRecommendations.com site for now. I am in talks and looking at a few ways to run it more cheaply, but as of today my time and efforts need to be put into other projects.

AntennaRecommendations.com has helped thousands of people find the best antenna. I plan to have more and more ways to help readers with antennas soon.

#4 Conversations with the Companies Behind Cord Cutting

One of the things I want to do in 2017 is bring you closer to the companies behind cord cutting. To do this, we are going to start a series of interviews with major cord cutting companies where you will ask the questions.

The plan is to allow you, the readers, to ask questions of some of the biggest cord cutting companies out there. You will be able to submit questions, and I will pick some of them to ask when I interview players of major cord cutting companies. Hopefully this will help our readers learn more about cord cutting and help companies hear from readers.

Keep an eye on the site as I hope to start these interviews sometime in the next few months. I already have several companies lined up to do these interviews with. It is just about getting a time that works for everyone.

So that is what we are up to and, as always, I will do my best to help you get the most from your cord cutting experience.
